Zippy’s Giant Burgers

Before heading over to Vashon Island, we stopped for a quick dinner at Zippy’s Giant Burgers. The 900+ reviews on Yelp were what made me want to try ZGB.

Hours.

We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 8:00pm). The inside is very diner-esque but with a plethora of seating areas.

They love all the old school McDonalds toys, posters, etc.

There’s a couple arcade and pinball machines to kill some time while you wait. Order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Food comes out quickly.

The menu is split into salads, burgers (classics, specials and lil burgers), sides, breakfast sammie’s, sandwiches and drinks.

Happy hour is weekdays (3:00pm to 6:00pm).

Seems like their hand dipped shakes are popular.

Condiments on the table included ketchup, mustard, sriracha and Tapatío hot sauce.

Not really sure why or who is using the sriracha.

Burger #1 ($8.00 US)
DSC03823Charbroiled patty, grilled onion, BBQ sauce, jalapeños, bacon and pepper jack cheese. We would have liked the patty to be more juicy but it was cooked well done. You also quite the hit of pepper in each bite.

Onion rings ($3.99 US)
DSC03826Comes with a side of mayo aioli. You only get about 7 pieces of onion rings so not the greatest value.

At least they were cooked properly and crunchy.

Decent but Zippy’s burgers didn’t blow us away.
