On our drive down to Portland, we stopped at Taqueria Los Potrillos 6. They have 5 other locations in the Seattle area. This one is located next door to Mali Thai Cuisine.
Hours.
We dropped in on a holiday Thursday (around 12:45pm). You go up to the front to order, food is brought to your table. The friendliest staff we’ve encountered at a Mexican spot!
There’s 60 items on the menu but the prices are very reasonable (most expensive dish is $16.50 USD).
The salsa bar is stocked with 5 salsas, lime wedges, radish, pickled carrot & jalapeños and pickled red onion with oregano.
Best salsa was the avocado followed by the smoky one.
They also had a couple types of agua fresca available.
Mint & cucumber agua fresca ($2.15 USD)
Refreshing and well balanced; not too sweet or sour. We also sampled the cantaloupe agua fresca (subtle but real cantaloupe).
Chips
Complimentary. Believe it was help yourself at the front. Perfect to whet our appetite.
Tamal (#54) ($2.50 USD)
They had four options (cheese, jalapeño, pork or chicken).
We went with the jalapeño; small, a touch dry but with some melted cheese inside.
Enchiladas especiales (#11) ($10.99 USD)
Three enchiladas and you’re able to pick different meats for each one! We went with chorizo, lengua and pastor.
Meats were all tasty and sprinkled with a generous portion of cheese. Rice and beans were standard fare. Nice touch with a dollop of guacamole and sour cream.
6x Tacos ($2.25 USD each)
We opted for pastor, cabeza, carnitas, asada, lengua ($0.50 USD extra) and pastor. All the tacos hit the spot. My favourites were the cabeza and lengua.
Would happily come back to TLP 6 next time we’re in the Tukwila area.
