El Rinconsito (Lynnwood)

We decided to stop in Lynnwood for some casual Mexican eats. We tried El Rinconsito, a local Mexican chain, with 14 other locations in the surrounding Seattle area.

We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 2:30pm) for a late lunch. You order and pay at the counter, food is brought out to your table.

Menu consists of tacos, caldos, enchiladas, especialidades, meats (chicken, pork and seafood) and desserts. Three cheap specials that caught our eye.

Untitled

The salsa bar had 5 salsas, lemon wedges, pickled carrot/onion, radish, onion and a cabbage slaw (curtido style).

Untitled

The winner for me was the salsa verde.

Enchilada plate special ($8.99 USD)
UntitledTwo chicken enchiladas mexicanas with rice, beans and a Favoritos drink.

Untitled

Chicken was a bit dry but you can’t beat the price.

4 Tacos special ($8.99 USD)
UntitledWe went with one each of their taco options (pollo, carnitas, adobada and buche). This special also came with a Favoritos drink.

Untitled

Didn’t love how it came pre-topped with various salsas.

Untitled

Favourite of the four was the buche (pork stomach); had a nice crackling.

The other ones were a touch salty and unmemorable.

Fish taco ($2.58 USD)
UntitledNot a very good fish taco. Fish was dry and salty.

Lengua taco ($3.93 USD)
UntitledOn the menu, it’s market price. Not cheap but it was tender and flavourful. Best taco that we ordered.

Average Mexican eats at ER.
