Not in this area often but we decided to try Bing and Noodles World. They specialize in Hangzhou food and are in the same plaza as Neptune BBQ House and Rib & Chicken.
Hours. Closed on Sundays.
We dropped in on a Friday for lunch (around 12:30pm) and were seated immediately.
The inside has a decent amount of tables. There’s only one waitress manning the front.
The menu consists of pancake/crepe, congee, fried stuff, appetizers, noodles, street fried, dry noodles, dim sum and rice.
Dong-po style thin noodle ($14.99)
Pork belly slices, corn, carrot, bok choy and pickled cabbage. The homemade thin noodles (made with wheat) were disappointing. No bite or chew to them. They give you a massive portion but they were clumpy. Broth was weak, lacked depth and complexity. The best thing in the bowl was the pork belly slices; tender, a touch fatty and flavourful.
Street fried style vermicelli ($15.99)
Cabbage, bean sprouts, onion, egg and shredded pork. We went with the spicy option (no heat, just some chili flakes). Not much pork but the egg was delicious. The vermicelli had a good wok hei but nothing really unique about this dish.
Wasn’t impressed with the food at B&N World.
