Finally made it out to Harbour Oyster + Bar for their $2.00 happy hour oysters. It’s located between Marcello Ristorante & Pizzeria and Sake Maki.
Sign outside.
We dropped in on an early Monday afternoon (around 3:30pm) and put our names down on the waitlist. Took about 15 minutes to get seated. Service is friendly and the waiters were chill. Overheard the main shucker saying he’s been doing it for over 10 years.
There’s a regular menu but our focus was mainly on the happy hour menu (11:00am to 5:00pm everyday).
They have a selection of about 7-8 types of oysters.
Lobster poutine ($19.00)
Jalapeno, corn, cheesy bechamel and cheese. We asked for the poutine to be on the sign, which worked out brilliantly. Kept the fries crisp.
You get about three small chunks of lobster (as we’d expected). The “poutine” was one of the better versions I’ve had in the city so far. Not too heavy and a couple chunks of cheese. Interestingly, our waiter compared these to Costco fries…
Happy hour clams ($14.00)
We opted for the red wine ‘nduja. The clams came with one piece of buttered garlic toast. Standard fare.
12x Oysters ($2.00 each)
The oysters of the day were Chef Creek (Baynes Sound, Vancouver Island).
This came with lemon wedges, fresh horseradish and two condiments (cocktail sauce and mignonette). Slightly briny but overall mild in flavour.
Decent spot to grab happy hour oysters.
