We decided to check out Indigenous World Winery as we’ve never been before.
Sign outside.
Tastings are $10.00/person (for 5 pours) but the fee is waived with a bottle purchase.
Service was young but friendly. Our pourer was able to describe each pour but it felt a bit scripted.
Some closeups of their wine bottles and hard liquor options.
Their labels are nicely done. We bought a bottle of gewürztraminer ($19.99) for home.
Make sure to check out the sweet outdoor view.
We tasted:
2020 Hee-hee-tel-kin
2019 Chardonnay – not your usual style of chardonnay. Lighter and without the usual oak/buttery mouth feel.
2020 Red fox rosé – interesting with herbaceous notes of rosemary and thyme.
2018 Cabarnet franc
2018 Syrah – this was our favourite from the bunch. Smooth with notes of berries, toffee and black pepper. Also their priciest bottle ($39.99) from the tasting.
Decent wines at IWW but nothing out of the ordinary.
