Broken Spoke Cider Co. is Edmonton’s first cidery. They’re located in a very random industrial area on the west end. The nearest restaurant to them is Siam Thai Kitchen.
We dropped in on a Thursday afternoon (around 3:15pm) and were the only ones there. There’s four large tables inside and two smaller ones outside. Would be nice if they set up some umbrellas.
Closeup of their cider fridge. The winter rider flavour sounded promising.
Interesting that they don’t offer any flight options.
Pints are $5.75 and a 4-pack of cans is $20.00.
The original ($5.75)
A subtle tartness. Light, easy drinking.
Hopped ($5.75)
We wanted more flavour. Dbone really didn’t like this one but we thought it was decent.
Ginger ($5.75)
My favourite from the three that we were able to sample. Smooth, well balanced and decent ginger flavour.
Happy to see craft cider breakthrough and looking forward to more flavours at BSC.
