Our second cidery of the afternoon that we checked out was Uncommon Cider Co. This was Calgary’s first cidery, opening up back in 2016.
We dropped in on a Thursday afternoon (around 4:45pm). Three large picnic tables outside along with a couple of tables inside. Service is friendly and there’s a resident dog that hangs around.
Closeup of their cider taps.
Merchandise and a good variety of cider bottles/cans.
Triple pack of their YYC community cider ($63.00) lets you taste from 2017, 2018 and 2019.
They had a lot of interesting flavours that weren’t available on tap so we ended up buying a couple of bottles and 4-packs.
There was 8 flavours to choose from (cores, collaborations and seasonals) along with some non-alcoholic options.
They also had some uncommon ideas, both which sounded very appealing.
Second flight was hopped, space juice, 2018 and 2019.
Our favourite was their collaboration with Citizen Brewing Company; space juice (stone fruit with tropical hops).
Gin botanical was a close second but all their ciders have a good mouth feel and slight funk to them, which we loved.
UCC was the easy winner out of the two cideries in town. Looking forward to coming back.
