Last year, we ran out of time to try Creek & Gully Cider. This time around we made sure to give it a go. C&G is a family run cidery specializing in bottle fermented ciders.
A couple signs outside.
We dropped in on a Saturday (with 1:30pm reservations).
Tasting is complimentary and included 7 pours.
Bottles are in the $20.00 to $26.00 price range but that includes all taxes and deposits. They also have cans ($7.00).
Like how they had the prices right up on their plexiglass.
They also had some almonds ($6.00) and dried pears ($10.00) for sale.
2019 Century pet nat
This was the driest of the bunch.
2019 Pink lady pet nat
This one was very enjoyable. Smooth and well balanced.
2020 Aurora
Tasted wine-like (merlot).
2020 Crabby pear
Good balance of sweet and tartness.
We bought a bottle ($22.00) for home.
Flora can
Lightly shaken, this is a mixture of different apples. Mellow, light, easy drinking.
2019 Flora
We were given the bottled version to compare with the can. Completely different in taste and texture. This was fizzy.
Juice
Their apple juice was tasty. Too bad it’s only offered in 5L sizes although it does have a shelf life of one year.
C&G had some solid ciders (leaning more to the dry scale). Worth a visit.
