Soma Cidery

Our fourth stop of the day was to check out Soma Cidery. We’ve visited one other time.

We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 4:15pm) and didn’t wait too long to do a tasting. The grounds are breathtaking with picnic tables out front along with a courtyard area. You can even book a room on Airbnb (10 available), called their Farm Inn, for $220.00/night.

You can feed the alpacas out front ($5.00 for food).

Some merchandise. I liked the look of their cap; clean and simple.

They always have two mainstays ciders. Service was friendly and informative.

They also offer non-alcoholic sparkling bottles, juice and apple chips. We bought a raspberry sparkling ($9.99) to try.

Nice to see they offer some food (in-house pita, fries and chips & salsa). Didn’t see a food menu, just some workers walking by with a few plates.

Apple cider
DSC04468This is their original flavour.

Oak aged apple cider
DSC04469Similar to a bourbon-esque flavour. Tasted a touch of vanilla.

Hard cherry cider
DSC04473This is one of their seasonal flavours. Drinks like a merlot wine. Wanted more cherry flavour.

Honey lavender cider
DSC04474This one is still our favourite. Floral, very lavender forward. Very cool that they use both the honey and lavender from their neighbours.

We bought a 500mL bottle ($10.50) for home.

Always a good time at Soma. Beautiful surroundings and solid ciders.
