It’s been a few years since my first/original visit to Blind Tiger Winery. They’re a 100% organic winery. This was our first winery of the day.
Entrance.
We dropped in on a Friday (with 11:00am reservations) and it was busy.
Their tasting room is tight (can only squeeze three groups in) but they have a huge spacious outdoor area.
There was plenty of merchandise available.
Tasting fee is $8.00/person and includes four pours. Fee is waived if you buy a bottle. They also offer some mixed drinks and a few food options. Spotted a pizza oven outside.
Staff were friendly and informative.
Gewürztraminer
Decently fruity but kind of your run of the mill gewurtz.
Chardonnay
Wasn’t too oaky, light and not overly dry.
Pinot gris
Good acidity and smooth. Easy drinking.
Pinot noir reserve
Smoky and a bit more tannin than we prefer.
Giggle water
B was curious about this bubbly and our hostess was nice enough to open a bottle for us. Notes of refreshing watermelon. This turned out to be our favourite of the bunch so we bought a bottle ($24.95) for home.
Didn’t fall in love with the wines at BTW but it’s a cool spot to check out.
