Our fourth and final winery of the evening was at Crown & Thieves. This is kitty corner to Truck 59 Ciderhouse.
This is the sweet, sweet view from the front. Slick.
Entrance.
Signs.
We dropped in on a Thursday evening (around 7:30pm). The moment you walk in, your jaw will drop. The baroque theme is a mix of chandeliers, velvet sofas and doors imported from Israel from the 1600’s. Think a bougie, beautifully curated castle.
Can’t believe there’s a speakeasy in the basement (for wine club members). They’ve gone for an old English pub, prohibition days vibe.
You’d think that was it but there’s more! There will be a rooftop patio where they’ll be serving food. Can’t wait to see how that turns out.
Merchandise price list.
Pre-selected 6 pack of wines ($140.00).
You can do the tasting inside along the u-shaped bar or else outside on the patio (three tables). Our hostess was friendly and chatty. Interesting that most of the staff here have tattoos. Goes with the vibe.
Tasting fee is $15.00/person and includes 4 pours but we were given an extra one.
Fee is waived with a bottle purchase.
2020 Little Nipper pinot gris
Citrusy and smooth. We bought a bottle ($22.99) to bring home.
2020 The winemakers wench
B didn’t like this one much as it was sharp and predominantly chardonnay.
2020 Pinky blinders
Rosé had a dry, subtle watermelon note. Juicy but not overly sweet.
2017 Arch doxy
Smokey, more complex cab franc.
2014 Scoundrels punch
We were given an extra red to try (one of their wine club exclusives). B liked this one too. Juicy blueberry and blackberry notes.
Cool, chic winery at C&T. Will have to come back to try their food.
