We love oysters but it’s been ages since we’ve had bought fresh ones. Fanny Bay Oysters Seafood Shop was on our list to try while we were on the island. It’s located by the ferry terminal; if you park in the Petro Canada lot, it’s downstairs/on the lower level.
Hours.
Couple signs outside.
We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 3:15pm). We’d tried to order online earlier but the site wasn’t working. We ended up calling to place an order and the lady answering was very friendly.
There’s lots of seafood options to choose from but they’re most well known for their oysters.
Three kinds (Fanny Bay, Kusshi and sunseekers), fish, crab, mussels, clams, spot prawns, shrimps, salmon candy and more.
Black handle shucking knife ($5.99) – we wanted to try shucking our own oysters so bought this baby.
Kusshi oysters ($12.95 for 12)
Fanny Bay oysters (XS) ($10.95 for 12)
Salt Spring Island mussles ($6.99/lb)
If you love seafood, this one’s a no brainer. Easy and grab and go for some fresh oysters.
