We needed some carbs after attending a festival for a few hours. We’d decided earlier to check out Feierabend, a German pub and restaurant, for their happy hour specials.
Hours.
Outside menu.
We dropped in on an early Saturday evening (around 5:30pm) and it wasn’t busy. A couple picnic tables outside were occupied. Service was friendly and our waiter came by several times to check up on us.
There’s a couple menus on the table but we were here for their happy hour (4:00pm to 6:00pm daily).
A total of 9 food items to choose from. Of course, there’s also a drink menu (1 and 2).
Gurkensalat ($6.00 US)
Shaved cucumbers, radish and red onions in a sour cream vinaigrette. We ordered because we thought some vegetables were a good idea. Cucumbers were tasteless and watered down. Not very much flavour going on in this dish. Wouldn’t get again.
Currywurst ($6.50 US)
Veal sausage with fries. Sausage was excellent. We also really liked the curry ketchup sauce that was great to dip in the fries. Fries were thin and lightly battered.
Schnitzelscheiben ($6.50 US)
Petite fried pork schnitzel with fries. Would be nice if they offered something besides fries as their side.
The pork schnitzel itself was executed well. Lemon wedge was a nice touch.
Overall, Feierabend had one of cheapest happy hours I found in the area.
