ZamZam Grill

I’d randomly spotted ZamZam from the car and made a mental note to check them out. They’re located across the street from Vegan Pizza House.

We dropped in on a Thursday evening (around 7:45pm) and it was empty. There’s a couple tables to sit at but it’s mostly barren inside. The menu is up on their TV screens; plates, wraps and sides. Short and sweet.

They also had a winter special of lentil soup ($2.99).

Pita bread
DSC06757Two pieces to add some filler to our dishes.

Falafel platter ($9.99)
DSC06754Four pieces of falafel, taboulleh and green salad. Wish that they gave you a dollop if rice but there’s only hummus underneath the falafel balls.

Falafel had a light, crispy texture.

Tabboulleh was okay but it lacked freshness.

Chicken shawarma ($11.99)
DSC06750Came with rice, hummus and salad. The rice was excellent; cinnamon spice they used was tasty.

The chicken was sadly over salted.

Nothing particularly stood out at ZZG.
