We’d walked by Milssam Tacorea earlier on in the week and decided to return to try their $1.50 street tacos. Never heard of this place before. It’s a few doors down from Minami.
For happy hour (3:00pm to 6:00pm and 9:00pm to 11:00pm), there’s a $16.00/person AYCE chicken wing option.
We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 7:45pm) and it was barely busy. The inside is spacious and they were playing a good mix of tunes (mix of old school/new hip hop and R&B).
Service was serviceable but we had to get our own water refills. Food comes out extremely/questionably quick.
The menu is split into tacos, mains, large share, small share, sweets and drinks.
There’s also a few dinner and drink specials.
Lastly, two options for dessert.
The taco itself had an odd, almost dry texture; seems like it was old or made earlier on in the day. The beef belly with the gochujang was a nice combo.
Barely any tofu as well. Kimchi wasn’t bad and broth was decent. But overall, not impressed with how little ingredients you get.
Soufflé cheesecake ($12.00)
This was the best thing we ate all night. Not too sweet and the texture was fantastic; light, fluffy and jiggly. We enjoyed this more than Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake at Metrotown.
They claim it takes 30 minutes to cook but they brought it out while we were still eating our meal. It’s made by Mr. Osmad (which is Damso spelt backwards).
The souffle cheesecake was MT’s only saving grace.
