We tried to go to two other ice cream spots in the neighbourhood but didn’t have any luck. We decided to try Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream. I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since my first visit here. How time flies. They have two other locations (Embarcadero and in Berkeley) in the Bay area.
Hours.
Signs outside with all their flavours.
We dropped in on a Monday afternoon (around 3:30pm) to an empty parlour. The inside is small with limited seating (6 diner style seats) but there’s some bench seating outside. We were able to try several samples before deciding. Nice touch that the worker explained/described the flavours.
Scoops are $4.95 US (single), $7.00 US (double) and $8.75 US (triple). They also offer sundaes, floats and specials.
Waffle cones are $1.25 US.
Closeup of their flavours.
The fridge had some interesting flavoured pints (black sesame, Hong Kong milk tea and mango mojito) that caught our eye.
Double ($7.00 US)
We went with red velvet and cherry elderflower with dark chocolate (vegan). The cherry elderflower was refreshing and addictive. Hands down the winner of the two flavours. Red velvet was what we expected; cheescakey and creamy.
Always changing flavours at HS but quality is still the same.
