Pizzeria Farina has been around for ages but I’ve never stepped foot into this place before. D’s been a few times and wanted to go back as it’s been awhile.
They specialize in is a thin crust style and have a sister restaurant out in North Vancouver, Farina a Legna.
We dropped in on an early Tuesday evening (around 5:30pm). It wasn’t very busy while we were there but several people came in to grab takeout. Order at the counter first.
The inside is small and only can fit 20 people (2 two-seaters, a communal table and four seats to people watch). There’s sparkling and distilled water at the front.
8 pizzas on the regular menu along with a daily special and drink menu.
They also have one happy hour deal (5:00pm to 6:00pm everyday) for $15.00 which gets you either an ortolana or margherita pizza with a Good Company alger. Pizzas are in the range of $15.00 to $21.00.
There’s an oregano infused olive oil and chili infused olive oil on the table.
Both bottles sounded promising but neither provided much flavour.
Quattro formaggi ($19.00)
Tomato sauce, fior di latte, parmesan, aged mozzarella, ricotta, basil and oregano. Toppings and flavours are simple.
It wasn’t very “cheesy” for a four cheese pizza.
Calabrese ($20.00)
Tomato sauce, soppressatta, fior di latte, nicoise olives and oregano. Soppressatta provided a good, light kick. Not many olives. The dough had a good chewy bite and wasn’t too soggy in the middle parts. Crust was decent but a touch on the crispy side.
Decent flavours but I wasn’t fully satisfied after our meal at PF.
