Tiger Sugar

After dim sum, we wanted some bubble tea so we decided to try newly opened Tiger Sugar. I’ve tried TS once before back in the motherland (aka. Taiwan) a few years ago. It’s in the same plaza that houses Mango Yummy and Dharma Garden.

We’ve been twice; once on a Tuesday afternoon (around 1:00pm), other on a Sunday evening (around 8:00pm). There’s a constant line of people ordering drinks but most people were taking it to go.

There’s only two tables (8 seats) and another four waiting chairs for seating.

The menu is slightly confusing but there’s essentially black sugar with boba, pearls, latte, cream mousse and either black tea or green tea. You can opt to get your drink hot or cold.

There’s only one drink size available.

Hilarious that they suggest you shake your drink 15 times. No customization on sweetness is available/allowed.

Black sugar black tea with boba ($5.50)
DSC08808There’s a lot of ice (we’d ask for less ice next time) but the black tea is strong. Not too sweet either. The boba were hot and fresh with a good chewy texture. Drink itself is on the smaller side.

Black sugar pearl milk ($6.50)
DSC09098These come with tiny pearls. Drink is sweet but not bad if you share.

Black sugar boba milk ($6.50)
DSC09096M got his with the regular sized pearls. Essentially, the same drink as ours. He found his drink too sweet and could only finish 3/4th’s.

If you’re a fan of the black sugar craze, Tiger Sugar is worth a try. Like it better than XFT and the other BBT chains in town.
