First meal back in town means checking out somewhere new. L wanted Asian so I suggested we try out China Burger BBQ for Northern Chinese food. They’re next door to Hanaichi.
We dropped in on a Saturday (around 1:00pm) for a late lunch. There was only a handful of customers eating but everyone was Asian. Service was friendly and our waters were refilled several times.
Terracotta warrior decor.
Even some cute miniaturized versions.
The menu is large with Chinese hamburgers, snacks and appetizers, rice, noodles & dumplings, main courses, barbecue and drinks.
They also had a fish & feature menu.
Tapioca black milk tea (hot) ($4.50)
We actually got this comped because they forgot to bring out a dish that we ordered. This was hot and came with pearls (sweet, decent texture) that reminded me of brown sugar. Drink is not too sweet; hit the spot for us.
Noodles were silky smooth with a great bite. Excellently done.
Mixed hotpot style spicy soup ($11.99)
We weren’t sure what to expect with this bowl but the broth had an unexpected, enjoyable kick. There was a hodgepodge of meat (ham, ) and vegetables (carrot, mushroom, bean sprouts). This would have been even better if they gave more noodles
Definitely would return to try out their their fish and meat skewers.
