Our last stop before heading out of Bellingham was at Mallard Ice Cream. They’re right along popular Railroad Ave, which houses several other restaurants and cafes.
Summer hours.
We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:30pm) and it was busy with lots of kidlets. The inside has a mix of sofa, tables and outdoor seating. Service is friendly and they let us try several samples (half a dozen) before we decided.
There was 20 ice cream flavours and another 5 non-dairy flavours.
A lot of interesting flavours you don’t normally see such as turmeric, yerba mate and lemon coriander.
Prices ($3.60 US single, $4.97 US double and $6.67 US triple) do not include taxes.
They also have a few drink options.
Interesting that you can pay either by cash or cheque. Use their ATM and you’ll get refunded the surcharge with any purchase.
Closeup of a few of their pint offerings.
Along with a small selection of merchandise.
Double scoop ($4.97 US)
We went with strawberry rhubarb and bourbon black pepper. Strawberry rhubarb was bursting with strawberry flavour. Bourbon black pepper was well balanced. Sadly, the ice cream melts quickly so beware of that.
MIC is an old school ice cream spot with a slight twist in their flavours.
