Boba Boy

After another salty Korean dinner, I needed a drink to quench my thirst. We were driving back when I spotted Boba Boy. We’ve seen their other locations (Kerrisdale and Richmond) so figured it was worth a shot. They’re located close to Oyama Sushi.

Cute sign outside.

Hours are long and late.

We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 8:30pm). There was only about half a dozen people inside. Surprised at how spacious and open the layout is.

The menu is massive with signature milk tea, specialty slush/smoothies, fruity tea, yakult fruit tea, fresh tea, fresh juice/milk, mousse latte and black sugar series.

They make their own boba (four types) but only had original and taro flavours available.

Deluxe milk tea ($5.30 large)
DSC02801We asked for 50% sweet, no ice and half original/half taro boba. The worker said it was do-able to mix but didn’t give us any taro. The milk tea was terrible; watered down and I barely registered any hint of a milk tea flavour. The grass jelly was canned and the pudding bland. The only half decent thing out of this drink was the boba.

Don’t waste your time. OneZo is close by if you’re looking for a better BBT spot. Even the Chatime nearby is a better option.
