We were excited for Hot Chocolate festival and while perusing the list of participants, we saw that Mon Paris Patisserie was on it. They’re a bit off the main path but located close to the Metrotown skytrain (west entrance/exit).
Sign outside.
Hours.
We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 3:00pm) and just missed the rush. It’s small with only four tables inside (about a dozen seats). They apparently have tables outside during the summer. Cool that you can peer into the back where one of the pastry chefs was making chocolate.

There’s a small but mighty selection of pastries, macarons, cakes and artisinal chocolate.
Macarons are $2.00 each, chocolate $1.65 and pastries range from $1.90 for $4.90.

Their Louis Vuitton chocolate purse ($38.00) was over the top.
Crazy rich pandan ($7.90)
Milk chocolate infused with pandan and coconut milk. Topped with whipped cream, roasted coconut, freeze dried durian and white chocolate fan. This was one of their hot chocolate specials. The dried durian was very durian. The piece of chocolate was a tasty bite. Coconut flakes were nicely toasted and you could taste the pandan. But was it worth double the price of their regular hot chocolate? Nope.
Passionfruit macaron ($2.00)
Really liked the filling although B would have liked the texture to be slightly crispier.
Kouign amann ($3.00)
When I see kouign amann, I try. Unfortunately, I’ve been spoiled in Montreal so my standards are high.
Decent but lacked layers, flakiness and finesse.
Will have to come back to try their almond croissants and chocolates.
