Sea Change Brewing Co

Back in town for the holidays meant trying out a few new spots. The craft beer scene is slowly growing and Sea Change Brewing Co was on my list of places to try. It’s located beside a pet grooming shop.

We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 5:00pm). It wasn’t too busy so we were able to snag a picnic table for our group of 5.

The inside is modern and nicely decorated. Service was friendly and they checked on us several times to see if we needed more drinks.

I was surprised to see they had banh mi options (supplied by Pho & Bun) to go with the usual snack options.

Drift chips ($6.00)

Not salty and good with the beers so S ordered one for the table.

Flight ($10.00 for 4)
DSC09417Everyone got flights (option for 4 or 6 samples). I went with the Irish amber ale, the wolf, prairie fairy and session ale.

DSC09421

The prairie fairy sounded tasty (blackberry, raspberry, tart and dry) but it seriously lacked in any flavour.

DSC09420

The Irish amber ale was probably my favourite but the beers lacked any real character or depth. I wanted to like them but I guess I’ve become a beer snob or something.

The wolf ($7.25 20oz)
DSC09418N got a pint for himself along with sharing a flight. He felt the same way about their beers.

I liked the chill vibes in Sea Change but you won’t be blown away by their beers. Hope they can work on distinguishing their beers.
