After an unsuccessful attempt to play beach v-ball, we decided to drown our sorrows in dessert. One buddy suggested we go for dofu fah at Excellent Tofu & Snacks. It’s located next door to Mango Mama.
We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 2:30pm). There was a constant group of people coming in for a quick dessert. The inside is very retro with an old school diner vibe to it. We sat at the counter and got to watch the two ladies work their tofu magic.
This is the magical pot where they dish out the silky tofu.
The menu is split into soy pudding (hot or cold), flavoured soy pudding (cold), snacks and soymilk.
Super odd that there’s separate menu with the prices but at least prices already include taxes.
There’s also a couple fridges up at the front where you can buy soy pudding, bottled syrup and soy milk to go.
Of course, a couple specials up on the wall.
There’s brown sugar, white sugar syrup and ginger syrup on the table.
Also some fried doughnuts.
That’s the way to do it; in it’s purest form.
The flavour is subtle with only a hint of sweetness; if you want more, you’ll have to add one of the syrups.
Ask for a side of their hot chili sauce.
Interesting spot to satisfy your tofu dessert/cravings. Cash only.
