Bánh Mi Très Bon is a cute French styled, Vietnamese cafe in Smartcentres Richmond plaza. It’s a much newer, chic Vietnamese spot but it’s still run by a Vietnamese family. That being said, BMTB starts at a higher price point than the norm.

We dropped in for a late Monday snack (around 5:15pm) when it was decently busy. The inside has a cozy nook of chairs in one corner (think French high tea) while the rest of tables is for eating.
The decor on the walls is a mix of French and Vietnamese books, places and pictures. Very well done.
There’s also self serve water, utensils and sauces at the back.
The menu is small with banh mi, pho, salads, appetizers, drinks and pastries (cakes, pastries and macarons).
Cute breakdown of what’s in their banh mi’s.
Interesting that there’s macarons!
There’s also a couple specials up on their chalkboard. The duck congee (chao vit banh hoi) was intriguing (but pricey at $16.00).
Along with a couple of daily features.
Order at the counter, they’ll give you a number and bring out your food to you.
Our food came out within 10 minutes.
Banh mi trio ($11.00)
We decided to go with their three mini banh mi sampler. Meatballs, house special and chicken. House special was the best followed by the chicken and meatball.
Bread was fresh and had a nice texture to it. Meatball needed more oomph in flavour but the chicken and house special was better.
The two shrimp chimps were good but give a few more please.
Savoury mini crepes ($7.00 for 7)
These crepes (aka. banh khot) came out on a sizzling cast iron skillet. Hot, super crispy and addictive.
There’s a side of fish sauce for you to pour into the crepes and basil to wrap around them. Legit. Get it.
Presentation is spot on and food is tasty but know it’s a bit pricier coming in. I’d come back to try their specials.
