I’ve been wanting to try Thanh Xuan Cafe for ages. Seriously, I remember spotting it from the car a few years ago. Their specialty is banh cuon and they’re located in the same plaza as Pho Hoa. Phoenix Massage is also right next door if you’re interested in one of those types of massages 😉
We dropped in on a Wednesday (around 12:15pm) for lunch and it was busy. There’s only 5 tables so it’s a tight squeeze. The ladies working here are straight up ‘Nammers so don’t expect much English. Nice that they start you off with a cup of cold tea.
The menu is very limited; basically, banh cuon and three types of noodle soups.
Delicious! This is what they’re known for and it shows. Literally, every table ordered this (and took one to go it seemed). Fresh, chewy, satisfying. Just get it.
It came with sliced pork, two chunks of minced crab, tomato, water celery sticks and green onions. This bowl won’t blow you away but it was satisfying enough.
Solid hole in the wall that excels in a few things! Cash only.
