We were ready for another brewery to try so after a quick search, Fuggles & Warlock was the chosen one. It’s located in a random Richmond industrial area beside Chocxo Chocolate Cafe (that’s closed?).
Hours.
Cool that they have a bike only parking rack.
We dropped in on a Monday afternoon (around 3:00pm). There’s lots of seating inside and out on the patio. A couple TV’s were playing sports/golf but in one corner, there’s old school video games!
One had a Gamecube, the other old school (think Pac man and other oldies).
You can see all the beer casks in the back.
A couple of trophies that F&G have won.
In another corner, there’s a stash of board games and crib. Totally used those.
Closest crib game I’ve played to date 😉
Even have an old school piano to potentially play?
Monday and Tuesday specials are $1.00 off 1L ($7.00 regular) and $2.00 off 2L ($12.00 regular) growlers. Too bad their growler fills are limited to 6 options. The one we wanted wasn’t available.
Keg prices for anyone that’s interested.
There were 8 flavours on tap so we decided to go all out and try them all. The flights come in a fun wooden box with magnetized labels.
There’s also a small food menu (sandwiches, pizza rolls, pies, tourtière, charcuterie, samosas, pretzels, etc.).
They had a mix of merchandise (hats, t-shirts, hoodies, glassware, postcards, beer jelly (different!), etc.).
Price list for their merch.
Love their #fuglife hashtag and tag line: weird but good weird.
The decor is a cool mix of their beer artwork and other things.
This one reminds me of a Sega Dreamcast game called Jet Set Radio.
They also had some clever beer design/artwork (draft punk rye IPA).
You can also buy cans ($12.50 for 6) or bombers ($6.75).
Trip #1
2x Rack ($8.00 for 4)
First flight had mountain view cassis sour, strawberry wit, coffee pilsner and pixel pils.
The second flight had personas, destiny IPA, Icarus mosaic saison and bean me up.
Our favourite was hands down the black currant sour followed by the strawberry wit. Both coffee beers were good but not sure if we could drink more than a sleeve. Mosaic saison was also decent. The other three we didn’t care for, especially the personas.
Kiwami plum sour ($6.75 bomber)
This one is super popular. They only had it in a bottle so we bought one for home.
Trip #2
Second time around, we decided to share a rack.
Rack ($8.00 for 4)
Strawberry wit, destiny IPA, Kiwami plum sour and pears in white satin imperial pear kolsch.
The plum sour was easily the favourite. Imperial pear kolsch sounded great but the pear was way too subtle.
Love the chill vibes at F&W. Wish they had more of their sour beers on tap!
