I don’t go for dim sum often but jumped at the chance when we were meeting up with some friends for Saturday brunch.
We arrived at 11:30am and put our name down. Only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. It got pretty busy at noon so I suggest going earlier. Seems like the tour buses bring people here too.
Dim sum is old school cart style here. Surprisingly, the food was hot and fresh. Can’t say the same for service. Was brutally painful trying to get our tea and waters refilled. Dish prices ranged from $4.79 to $5.99.
5x tea ($1.00 each)
Never impressed when a place charges you for tea. Especially when you can’t get any refills.
Xia long bao (XLB)
Never order XLB’s at dim sum.
Fried glutinous red bean dumpling
Ma lay go (honey sponge cake)
Normally don’t order any sweets. This was light, airy and fluffy.
Gai lan with garlic ($7.99)
We needed some veggies so ordered some gai lan.
Steamed shrimp balls
Never had these before. Stuffed with shrimp!
Decent enough but this is a typical dim sum joint.
