I’m slowly working my way through all the dessert spots in town. Finally made it out to Glenburn Soda Fountain. It’s located right beside Oui Coffee House.

We dropped in after dinner on a Tuesday evening and lucky us, no line!
This place is the definition of old school. Retro counter seats, original milkshake mixers and oldies music.
Tons of candy, sauces and pastries up on the counters and on display.
They even sell books and East Van Jam’s.
You can fill a bag full of candy for $3.00.
Menu is up on the wall. Sodas, milkshakes, malts, cones, floats, egg cream, rickeys, sundaes and fountain syrups.
Ice cream flavours are listed at the end of the bar; there were 10 available. Ice cream comes from Birchwood Dairy.
They also had a regular menu.

Sunday special ($9.00)
Chocoholic and vanilla ice cream, chocolate pearls, hot fudge, marshmallow and whipped cream. The pearls added some texture to the ice cream. Both desserts melted quickly so eat up! You know a place is legit when they make real whipped cream.
Banana split ($11.00)
Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream topped with hot fudge, pineapple and strawberry sauces. Split banana and topped with whipped cream, walnuts and cherries. My favourite was the strawberry sauce. None of that artificial crap. Also enjoyed the pineapple pieces. I’m not a huge fan of bananas in my desserts but everything else was tasty. The ice cream itself is a tad one dimensional but that might just be me.
Cute spot to bring a date. Come for the old fashion retro vibes and bring an appetite.
