It’s always tricky trying to find new pho places in town. When a bunch of buddies were in town, we decided to head all the way east to try out T&D Vietnamese Noodle House.
The hours are pretty standard. Closed Tuesday’s.
The sign out front has slightly different hours than above…not sure why.
We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and the place was pretty quiet. Staff are friendly and let us take our time perusing the menu. Speaking of the menu, it’s humongous with combinations, appetizers, vermicelli bowls, pho, specialty noodles, steamed rice, fried rice and beverages.
Bo tai chanh (A10) ($11.50)
It’s pretty hard to find this dish in Edmonton; Vietnamese rare beef salad. The sauce was intensely sweet. Not what I’m normally accustomed to as they had a lot of things going on in terms of toppings.
Bun rieu (P10) ($12.50 large)
This is another tricky dish to find in town. Whenever I see bun rieu, I can’t really say no. The broth was quite sweet (seems most of their dishes leaned to the sweet side). There was a mix of crab meat, tofu, onions, tomato and green onions. Broth needed some more depth but it wasn’t bad.
If you’re looking for a southern Vietnamese spot to try, T&D Vietnamese Noodle House is worth a visit. Cash and debit only.
