We decided to drop in for ice cream on a Sunday afternoon after watching some surfing action up in the North Shore. Dave’s Hawaiian Ice Cream was spotted from the road so we swung in to take a gander.
The inside is like any old school ice cream parlour. Not much for atmosphere here but most people were taking their orders to enjoy elsewhere.
The menu is long and winding. It’s not only ice cream here but you can also get sundaes, acai, bubble tea, halo halo, popcorn, shakes, smoothies and more. Crazy.
Can’t say it’s ever a good sign when a place tries to do have their hand in so many different things. We stuck with the ice cream to hedge on the safe side.
Coconut macadamia nut and caramel macadamia nut ($5.15 double scoop)
Tons of unique Hawaiian flavours. We decided to test out both macadamia nut flavours. Like how they have real bits of macadiam nuts in the ice cream. The double scoop was more than enough to share between my sister and I. Gotta love good ‘ol America.
Don’t forget, it’s cash only!
