If you read my blog, you know I’m always complaining about how all the good Korean eats are south side. Someone must have heard my/north siders cry for something Korean to pop up because Coco’s Deep Fried Chicken opened up a second location. I’ve been to their original location which you can see here. We overshot where the exact location was – look for Coco’s nestled in between a Subway and tanning salon.
Lambo and I met up for lunch Wednesday and were the first customers to arrive. I knew he was going to like it even though he’d never been before. Who can say no to KFC?
The inside is nicely lit and more roomy than you’d expect although there’s only four tables to sit at. Friends was playing on the TV. There’s also a few benches up front to sit at if you end up doing takeout.
The menu is all about chicken here. Two types to choose from and then it depends on how much chicken you want to stuff your face with. Couple sides to choose from but that’s essentially it.
Lunch special ($7.99)
Two pieces of crispy chicken, rice and Caesar salad. The guy working the front was super chill and asked us if we wanted gravy or the Korean sweet and hot sauce to go with our meals. Obviously, we went with the latter. The chickens were crispy, crunchy and juicy on the inside. I like how they gave us a drumstick and thigh to try. For $8, the price is right although I wish they gave you one more piece. One more would be the perfect amount. Just make sure you get the sweet sauce with your chicken as that takes their chicken to another level.
Finger lickin’ good. Lunch deal is great!
