Leonard’s Bakery is another legendary, iconic place in Oahu that we visit every time we come to the island. Here for one thing and one thing only: malasadas. The Portuguese sure know how to make good pastries.
There’s always a lineup inside no matter what time of the day you come but don’t fret – it always moves fast. Order at the counter and wait for your fresh, made to order malasadas to arrive!
Just look for the colorful sign. Parking is cramped – deal with it.
Flavour of the month malasada ($1.35)
Eat them while they’re fresh! I took mine to the beach but nothing tastes better than straight from the fryer to yo mouth. Looks like the price went up slightly since our visit ($1.50). Lightly dusted with sugar on the outside, their malasada are heaven. The dough is light and airy – nothing like you’re typical donuts.
Mmmmm look at that filling oozing out. They don’t skimp out. One malasada is absolutely massive.
Another awesome spot that can do no wrong.
