Mama Lee’s Kitchen

I’ve been meaning to write about Mama Lee’s Kitchen for awhile now but wanted to try more of their offerings. It is primarily a take out place but there are a couple seats so you can eat there if you desire. I finally made it over there for a second time last week on a cold, rainy Wednesday evening. Lucky for me, there was no line! Tucked away in a quiet, strip mall area on the south side, this is one of my new favourite places in the city.

The food always comes out fresh and quickly. Plus the girl that works the front is super sweet.

Pork bulgogi ($8.50)
Spicy marinated pork with vegetables.

Osam bulgogi ($10.50)
Spicy pork belly and squid with vegetables.

These are the “special combos” and come with rice, japchae (noodles), kimchi, bean sprout salad and a piece of vegetable tempura. Awesome deal for the price! Both were tasty and had a nice kick to it.

Here’s a tip – don’t eat it in your car unless you want it smelling like Korean food for the next three days…lesson learned for next time.
